The safety of our residents, non-residents, and visitors while enjoying our pool facilities is of the utmost importance to Anderson Mill Municipal Utilities District. We have never had a serious accident or death at our pools in over 30 years, with over 200,000 visitors each year. Our rules are necessary to maintain this safety record.
Parents: Our lifeguards are present for emergency response and safety enforcement--they are not babysitters. They are scanning 4,000 to 7,000 square feet of pool surface and up to 200 swimmers every 20 seconds. It may take another 10 seconds to recognize that a person is in trouble and not just playing, and another 5-10 seconds to get to the person. This is a total of 30-40 seconds. A child can inhale water and be in danger of drowning in just 5 seconds. For this reason, the Anderson Mill Aquatics Centers rules require that a parent or babysitter stay within arm's reach of all children under seven (7) in ALL of our pools- even the shallow water pools.
Please take a few minutes to review our pool rules and regulations and strictly adhere to them. These rules are designed for safety in the most crowded pool conditions, so at times the rules will be enforced more strictly than at other times. Our lifeguards' primary concern is safety, and when the pool is not crowded some play can take place safely. When there are crowds present in the pool, the same play can become hazardous. Please obey the instructions of the lifeguard at all times.
Our goal is to be as unobtrusive as possible while still maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment. If you have any questions about any of our regulations, or to report any violations you may observe, please contact us using the Contact Us page on this site or at the phone number listed below.
